As China top manufacturing on mud solids control and drilling waste management, GN Solids Control exported complete set solids control equipment for Russia customer.
The projects includes below solids control equipment:
1) Solids control shale shaker with linear motion, model GNZS594E.
Model clarification: GN means brand. ZS means linear motion. 59 means the screen width is 59cm. 4 is 4-panel screens. E means it is the E generation from GN Solids Control.

It is a 4-panel linear motion shale shaker can be used for both solids control. It can also be used as high G drying shaker while equipped with 1.94Kw vibration motors and with hopper feeding.
GN offers steel frame screen and composite material screens for GNZS594E 4-panel shaker.
2) Fixed speed decanter centrifuges for solids control and barite recovery. Centrifuge model: GNLW363CG. It is the most popular side decanter centrifuge for drilling rigs.
GN and LW means the brand and centrifuge type. 36 is the centrifuge bowl diameter: 36cm. 3 is the bowl length and diameter ratio. 3 is the most popular ratio for drilling rig decanter centrifuges.
3) Some mud agitators and centrifugal pumps.
Even for the accessory small equipment, GN all made per international high standard, with all materials chose from internal and international famous brand.
For mud agitator, GN chose SOG oil seal and FAG genius bearings.
GN centrifugal pump is equipped with mechanical seal. The material for mechanical seal is tungsten carbon for long time. Bearings are from worldwide famous brand FAG.    
Other solids control equipments can be offered by GN Solids Control:
1) Desander, desilter or mud cleaner with under flow shale shaker. GN do offer 2-panel, 2-panel, and 4-panel under flow shale shaker.
2) Poor boy degasser, it is also name mud gas separator. It is used before shale shaker but after BOP to kill the gas in the mud.
3) Vacuum degasser. It is used after shale shaker but before hydrocyclone separator to kill the very small size gas to protect the cones.
4) Jet mud mixer for barite and polymer mixture.

Centrifugal pump can also be called sand pump. It is widely used for oil and gas drilling rig mud system. It can be used as mixing pump, desander desilter feeding pump, centrifuge feeding pump, trip pump, charging pump etc…

There are different functions of centrifugal pump in oil and gas drilling rig mud system

1) Centrifugal feeding pump
Centrifugal pump can be used as feeding pump for desander, desilter and decanter centrifuge. It is normally mounted on the slope tank or skid of the mud tank.

2) Mixing pump
Centrifugal pump can be used together with mixing hopper as the mud mixing system. There are 2 type of mixing mud system with centrifugal pump.
One kind of design is both the centrifugal pump and mixing hopper with ventury are mounted on a separate skid, they are connected through pipes and values. And then connected to mud tank.
Another kind of design is more compact. It is built-in design onto the system. The centrifugal pump is mounted on the same tank skid, while the mixing hopper can be mounted on the tank top or on the tank skid.

3) Trip tank pump
Trip tank (5~10 cbm) is normally equipped for oil and gas drilling rig mud system. It is before shale shaker tank. And a small motor size centrifugal pump is requested for the trip tank.

4) Degasser pump
For European made vacuum degasser, it is not self suction type. A separate degasser pump is requested to generate vacuum for the degasser.
Unlike European brand vacuum degasser, GN Solids Control made degasser is self suction type. It does not need degasser pump. It can save the power of the total mud system.

Customer can also use centrifugal pump with other functions. GN Solids Control makes centrifugal pump from 15hp to 100hp, with size vary from 4×3 to 8×6 to suits for different applications.

Introduction of mud gun in mud tank system

Mud gun is widely used in mud tank system. It is normally mounted at tank corner. Its function is to agitating drilling mud, and avoid the solids phase in drilling mud from settling down, and keep an equal weight of the mud. Mud gun can also be used to transfer mud from tank to tank or from compartment to compartment.

There are high pressure mud gun and low pressure mud gun used for mud systems. During China brand mud gun, the normal model is 3.2Mpa or 6.4Mpa. The high pressure or lower pressure of mud gun depends on the power source of the mud gun. High pressure mud gun is feeding by mud pump. Its feeding line connected with mud pump flow line. Lower pressure mud mud gun feeding for centrifugal pump. The quantity of mud gun in mud tank system depends on the tank design and tank dimension.  

Applications of Mud gun in mud tank system

There are 2 inch and 3 inch mud mud gun for mud tank system. Both model have fixed design and manual adjustment design for option.

Drilling mud agitator and mud gun in mud tanks

Mud gun is usually used together with drilling mud agitator. Mud agitator is mounted in the middle of the tank compartment. The corners agitator cannot reachable. Mud gun will be used together with mud gun to keep the tank corner mud moveable. GN design mud gun is equipped with 3 nozzles, each nozzle with 120°to each other.  

Shear pump is a kind of centrifugal pump no need safety valve at outlet. Below is reasons explained from function and pressure source.

Explain on Functions to confirm shear pump no need safety valve

Shear pump is a kind of centrifugal pump. Drilling mud get a certain amount of kinetic energy while leaving impeller under the impeller rotating centrifugal force. Mud also get some certain of pressure in the pump housing, the pressure does not vary with the change of time, pump outlet size, but only depends on impeller structure, size, and rotating speed. As the pressure at shear pump outlet is not vary per pump flow or working condition. It is no need to match safety valve.

Explain on pressure to confirm shear pump no need safety valve

Driving motor and shear pump connected directly with belt. Design speed of impeller is 2200RPM (max.). Under normal working situation, like for 60hz motor, max. speed of shear pump impeller is 1800rpm, much smaller than the design speed. The maximum pressure generated from high speed rotating of impeller centrifugal force is constant. The max. shear pump pressure is 0.47MPa. The outlet pipeline and pump casing can surely withstand the pressure. In this case, it is no need to match safety valve.

Even in the case of the outlet is blacked or the valve is closed, pressure generated from the impeller rotating is larger than pump outlet, drilling mud cannot be discharged, and circulated within pump housing under the rotating force of impeller. If the outlet is blacked or the valve is closed, and mud circulated within the pump housing for a long time, the worst condition is to increase the temperature of pump housing in some degree. The pump pressure will not increase. Therefore, it is no need for mounting safety valve in shear pump outlet pipe.
