The GN Mud Mixing Units is a Key Player in A Mud Mixing Tank

In the intricate world of drilling operations, the efficiency of mud management plays a pivotal role. At the heart of this management lies the drilling mud recycling system, seamlessly orchestrated by the mud recycling tank skid and mud mixing tank skid. Let’s delve into the intricacies of the mud mixing unit, a key player in ensuring a continuous and effective drilling process.

Understanding the Mud Mixing Unit
Positioned at the end of the mixing tank, the mud mixing unit holds a crucial role in preparing and maintaining the drilling mud. Before drilling kicks off, the unit combines clean water and mud materials to create the initial mud blend. As drilling progresses, adjustments are made to the mud properties by introducing new materials such as barite or polymers. The mud mixing unit efficiently draws drilling mud from the mixing tank, incorporating new materials, and then circulates the blend back into the mixing tank. To ensure thorough blending, mud agitators are commonly employed in the mixing tank.

Components of the Mud Mixing Unit
1. Centrifugal Pump (Mixing Pump): This pump serves as the lifeline, drawing drilling mud from the mixing tank and directing it to the hopper unit through a pipe manifold. Driven by an electric motor through a direct shaft connection, it ensures a consistent and efficient shearing process. GN opts for belt driving for enhanced shearing pump efficiency.

2.Mud Hopper: GN’s Ventri-type mud hopper, connected to the pipe manifold via a T pipe, facilitates the seamless addition of mud materials into the drilling fluids. Constructed with stainless steel for anti-corrosion durability, the hopper includes a bag breaker for rapid powder incorporation. The pipe manifold features a pressure gauge for the operator to monitor the mixing pump’s working pressure.

3. Control Panel: Equipped with an explosion-proof control panel for Zone 1 applications, GN’s mud mixing unit boasts user-friendly operations. With only three buttons – on, off, and emergency stop – the control panel ensures simplicity in operation. Signal lights complement the panel, providing clear indications of ongoing operations.

Versatility in Installation
GN’s mud mixing unit offers flexibility in installation, accommodating both end-of-mixing-tank and separate small skid mounting options. Additionally, the unit can be designed as a dual hopper dual pump type, providing increased capacity or acting as a contingency measure in case of equipment breakdown.

In the intricate dance of drilling operations, the mud mixing unit emerges as a silent hero, ensuring the seamless flow of drilling mud, and consequently, the success of the entire operation. If you are interested, please contact me at samuel@gnsolidscontrol.co for further information.

Optimizing Slurry Supply: The Versatility and Efficiency of GN Screw Pumps for Centrifuges

The screw pump stands out as the optimal apparatus for supplying slurry to centrifuges due to its unique features in a waste fluid treatment system. It avoids shearing or mixing the slurry, maintaining a low internal flow rate along the shaft, and ensuring consistent capacity, and stable pressure without causing vortices or stirring. Its composition revolves around two distinctive geometric components: the screw shaft (rotor) and the screw sleeve (stator). These elements work in tandem, generating extrusion that guides the slurry along the shaft.

GN Solids Control is a leading screw pump supplier that our screw pumps boast enhanced durability and reliability compared to most Chinese-made counterparts Crafted with components from leading German brands and assembled in China. Through strategic agreements with NETZSCH, we can provide these pumps at a more cost-effective price than the official site.

Among the favored models is the GNG30B-075C, catering to the GNLW363D centrifuge, boasting a flow rate of 30.3/h, a 7.5kW motor, and DN100 inlet and outlet specifications.

When opting for a screw pump, selecting the right model is crucial for optimal performance. To tailor the choice to the specific physical and chemical characteristics of the media and operational requirements, we encourage users to submit pump operation data. Our team of professionals can then recommend a suitable selection, which is subject to customer confirmation.

The model selection process requires essential operational data:

Transport Medium: Name, corrosiveness, abrasiveness, viscosity, solid content, working temperature.

Operating Parameters: Flow rate or range, maximum pressure, continuous or intermittent operation.

Installation Environment: Horizontal or vertical orientation, fixed or mobile setup, special requirements for connecting pipelines, electrical systems, and explosion-proof protection.

As a progressing cavity pump, the screw pump consists of a helical rotor and stator. The rotor, featuring a large pitch, depth, and a specific cross-section, works in conjunction with a stator with a two or three-start thread, allowing continuous movement of the medium from the inlet to the outlet.

When in need of a centrifuge and feed pump, we recommend choosing the screw pump as your feeding pump. For further information, kindly reach out via email to samuel@gnsolidscontrol.co.

GNCD930G is Very Necessary for OBM making and Oil Sludge Treatment

The oil and gas industry is a major contributor to environmental pollution. For Oil-based mud, a vertical cutting dryer is a very important equipment to separate the mud effectively. GN Solids Control is a leading solids control equipment and mud system manufacturer in China, and our vertical cutting dryer model is GNCD930G. And this blog will show the GP model with a fixed speed.

Vertical Cuttings Dryer

Vertical cutting dryers are a type of centrifugal separator that uses a rotating drum to separate solids from drilling fluid. They are designed to be highly efficient and easy to operate.

c1C2Vertical Dryer

This cutter dryer is designed with a hard-faced rotor (HRC 65) with individually balanced flights and rotor assembly for longer life. It also has a specially designed stainless steel screen for better separation, longer life, and easy replacement. The screen is individually balanced and can be replaced without changing the frame.

Besides, It also has a special high-pressure air knife design to clean the basket screen automatically, avoiding screen blinding, especially for high-viscosity mud and water-based mud. It also has an all-around flushing system through specially designed nozzles to avoid the blocking of the liquid discharge channel.

In addition to improving the quality of drilling fluids, GN Vertical Cutting Dryers also help to treat oil waste, Recently I got an inquiry about oil lagoon, and the vertical cutting dryer will help. This is because a stainless steel screen bowl traps “wet” solids and accelerates them up 900RPM with G force to 420G Liquid is forced through the screen bowl openings.

If you have a project like waste management or oil-based mud treatment and need a cutting dryer, please contact me at samuel@gnsolidscontrol.co for more details.

6 Sets VFD Decanter Centrifuge for Mud Treatment Supplied to China

Decanter centrifuges are used in a wide variety of industries to separate solids from liquids. They are typically driven by variable frequency drives (VFDs), which allow for more precise control of the centrifuge’s speed. GN supplied 6 sets of GNLW453D-VFD decanter centrifuges this time to a Chinese client.

The ability to vary the speed of the centrifuge allows it to be used for a wider range of applications. For example, it can be used to process slurries with different solids contents or viscosities. Besides, By optimizing the speed of the centrifuge, the separation of solids and liquids can be improved. This can lead to higher quality products with less waste.

Here is the specification of this model:

How Does a Decanter Centrifuge VFD Work?

A decanter centrifuge VFD works by controlling the frequency of the electrical current that is supplied to the centrifuge motor. This changes the speed of the motor, which in turn changes the speed of the centrifuge. The speed of the centrifuge is typically controlled by a feedback loop that monitors the level of solids in the centrifuge.

The centrifuge can separate drilling mud in which the fluid phase was separated by shale shakers and mud cleaners, and it’s feed pumps are usually screw pumps. This equipment will make the fluid phase more clear and reused in the drilling fluids process.
